Now taking applications for UCC’s Diploma in Speciality Food Production, September 2017

Since 2005, UCC has provided education and training to more than 200 people working in the artisan and speciality food sector. In recognition of the importance of the sector the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine will again provide funding for students on the next cycle of this Diploma. UCC for its part provides this specialist education by drawing on the expertise of both internal and external educators, professionals and practitioners.
The diploma will start on 19th September 2017 and will run on a part-time basis until May 2018. The programme is typically delivered every three to four weeks, over mostly two day sessions (Tuesday and Wednesday) and consists of lectures in conjunction with practical demonstrations, case studies, site visits and workshops.
Students of the Diploma (see pictured below) are agreed that this Diploma was extremely informative and interesting, and gave them the confidence to develop a speciality food business. ‘The course was thoroughly enjoyable, informative, interesting and challenging. I learned so much relevant information which helped me to start my artisan food production journey’.
